I’ve been a little meh about Barack Obama’s candidacy, I’ll admit. But the speech he just gave… damn; even MSNBC’s Chris Matthews was (temporarily) at a loss for words. So, I’m finally in. Anyone who can shut that bloviating gasbag up is clearly my guy.

How can you NOT be affected by that speech. It was incredible.
Of course you have to put aside that the complexity of American government will prevent him following through on 3/4 of those promises but it is so rare to hear a politician be THAT direct about his policies. It was refreshing and what I was waiting hear all through the monotonous campaign season.
Okay, my husband was rather “hrumph” about it and now we have a $20 bet on the outcome of the election.
If Obama sticks to this style and gameplan for the election, I think he will give McCain a serious run for his money. The debates will be very interesting.
I was always in Obama’s camp but like you was feeling meh. I am finally excited about a candidate. Yay.
I thought he was your guy b/c it would mean an influx of eligible democrats / growth of a “legitimate” or “worthwhile” bachelor pool? At least, it was presented to me that IF I voted for the DFL it would only enhance your social life, and how could one not do “their part?”
@ Common Loon – Yes, for that reason (among others) I would absolutely be voting for Obama anyway. Difference is, now I actually like him.
And yes, for those of you reading this who are on the fence, do this girl a solid and vote Democratic to improve the DC dating pool.
